MODIFIED FARM TRACTORS

Ballast & Speed
-16 MPH speed limit
-Maximum weight: 12,000 lbs
-All weights must be securely fastened
-Weight will be exact — no variance
-Front weight frame or weights may not exceed 13 feet from the front of the center of the rear axle
-No weight may extend past the rear tire

Dress Code
-DOT-approved helmet must be worn and fastened
-Driver must wear leather work shoes, long pants, and a long-sleeve shirt
-Single-layer fire suit is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Tires
-Maximum tire size: 18.4 / 20.8 × 38 or 42
-Aluminum wheels allowed on front only
-Top-cut tires only

Exhaust
-Exhaust must be vertical
-Exhaust pipe must extend 18 inches above the hood

Safety Equipment
-Guillotine air shutoff required with a 2-inch solid ring at the rear of the tractor for sled hookup. May be manually operated by the driver from the seat
-Four (4) 3/8-inch Grade 5 bolts installed in the horizontal portion of the exhaust pipe as close to the turbo housing as possible. Bolts must be installed 90 degrees apart, within one inch of each other. Turbo cross is highly recommended
-Kevlar blanket required on turbo compressor housing
-Seatbelts required (five-point harness and helmet required with roll cage)
-Steel flywheel is mandatory. Transmission blanket is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
-Steel fan blade must have a 180-degree top fan shroud
-Side shields required: 1/8-inch steel or 1/4-inch aluminum
-Roll bar or roll cage is mandatory
-Wheelie bars required and must be strong enough to hold the weight of the tractor, with 4×4 or larger skid pads. Maximum 10 inches from the ground
-Dead-man throttle is highly recommended and must have a double pull-back spring
-Ladder bars or tie bars are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
-All tractors must have a 2.5 lb dry chemical fire extinguisher, securely mounted and within reach of the driver
-Front ski maximum height 4 inches off the ground is highly recommended

Fuel
-Diesel fuel #1 or #2 only
-Oxygen enhancers are not allowed
-Tractor must have an operator-controlled fuel shutoff valve (not the injection pump shutoff)

Engine
-No cubic inch limit
-3,000 RPM maximum
-Any tractor exceeding the RPM limit will be disqualified
-Tractor must have an ISSPRO single magnetic pickup mounted to the front of the engine to measure RPM
-Lead from pickup to rear of tractor must be 14–16 gauge wire, attached to a 110V 3-prong female electrical outlet
-Wires must be attached to the two main spades, not the ground
-Outlet must be mounted near the rear-mounted air shutoff cable
-Wire must be one continuous visible wire with no splices
-Required for all sanctioned AOPS events and must be functional
-RPM sensor kit may be purchased from AOPS
-Turbo maximum size: 2.8-inch inlet × 3.0-inch exhaust (T-4 base)
-Factory replacement engines permitted
-Replacement engine must match OEM cylinder count
-Water injection allowed (no accelerants; water may be tested at any time)
-Fuel pump may be rotary, A, or P pump
-Maximum pump size: P7100
-Sigma and billet pumps not permitted
-Newer electronic tractors allowed as long as all other rules are met

Hitch
-Minimum drawbar length: 18 inches from center of rear axle to point of hook
-Maximum hitch height: 20 inches from ground to top of hitch
-Hitch hole must be 3.75 inches × 3.25 inches or larger
-Hitch must be rigid with no movement allowed
-No vertical hitches or clevises allowed
-Built pulling hitches are permitted

Sheet Metal & Chassis
-Hood, fenders, and grille must be factory-style sheet metal or OEM replicas for the model
-Wide front end only
-Agricultural chassis and stock wheelbase only
