General Rules for All Classes:
Protest Rules:Protests can be made only by a contestant in the same weight class before the next weight class starts. A $250 cash bond, along with a written statement of the item being protested and a copy of the specifications, must be presented to a committee member. The protested tractor will be impounded for inspection. If the protested tractor is found to be legal, the bond money will be returned to the tractor owner or driver. If the tractor is found to be illegal, it will be disqualified, and all accumulated points will be penalized.
Mountain Ridge GT Pulling Series 2025
- Attempts: Two attempts will be allowed to start the sled, except in pull-offs. In a pull-off, only one attempt is allowed.
- Pulling Position: The pulling position will be determined by drawing. The drawing will take place prior to the event.
- Test Puller: The test puller has the option to drop their first hook and move to the back of the class.
- Driver Position: The driver must remain seated during the pull. Drivers must have at least one hand on the steering wheel at all times.
- Boundary Line: Any portion of the tractor touching the boundary line during the pull will result in disqualification. This rule applies only to the front or rear tires. Once the tractor passes the full pull mark, there is no out of bounds. The entire tractor must pass the full pull mark.
- Safety Gear: Helmets and fire suits are mandatory in all classes. Fire suits must be zipped and secured. Drivers must wear leather shoes or boots.
- Driver and Tractor Appearance: Drivers should be clean and neatly attired. Tractors must be clean and painted. Drivers under 18 years of age must have signed parental consent on file.
- Tractor Requirements: Open to two-wheel-drive, rubber-tired tractors. No dual wheels, chains, or spikes.
- Tires: Tires must not be larger than 26x12x12 for all tractors.
- Seat Back: All tractors must have a seat back that is at least 3 inches high. The seat back must be rigid and not flex excessively when leaned upon. The seat back angle should not exceed 45 degrees.
- Fuel Requirements:
- Methanol: Only methanol is allowed unless otherwise specified, with no additives. There are two U.S. Federal grades: Grade A and Grade AA. Either grade is permitted, but pullers should ensure the methanol meets federal purity standards.
- Gas: Gas must be either VP C-12 or VP C-15 unless otherwise noted. No oxygenated fuels.
- Diesel: Fueled tractors must run diesel only, with a dielectric value between 2.2 and 4.9.
- Prohibited Fuels: No pressurized fuel tanks, nitrous oxide, or propylene oxide in any class.
- Hitch Requirements:
- The hitch plate opening must be a minimum of 1 1/2 inches to allow hook attachment.
- The hitch must be stationary in all directions.
- No man-made hitches may be placed forward of the center of the rear axle.
- Hitch height and weight are the responsibility of the driver. Periodic checks will be performed throughout the event. The hitch will be checked for regulation height at the scales when weighing in. It must be stable in all directions. No floating hitches are allowed.
- Driver Instructions: The driver must stop the tractor immediately upon the signal from the judge or official.
- Pulling Order: The pulling order will be determined the day of the event.
- Scale Time: The limit is 3 minutes on the scale.
- Hitch & Kill Switch Accessibility: The hitch and kill switch must be easily accessible to track assistants.
- Chain Requirements: The chain must not touch the wheelie bar when tightened.
- Exhaust Requirements: The exhaust pipe must have a 1/4-inch bolt, and any pipe over 2 inches in diameter must have two 1/4-inch bolts crossed within 1 inch of each other.
- Top 3 Tractors: The top 3 tractors may be checked and reweighed.
- Random Checks: Random checks may be performed on any part of a tractor at any time. Track officials will make the final decision. Arguing or badgering will not be tolerated.
- Gray Area: If something is not explicitly stated in the rules or seems unclear, do not do it. Please call and ask for clarification.
Engine and Tractor Specifications:
- Maximum Engine Size: The engine size is limited to 45.5 cubic inches.
- Stock Head with Recast Carburetor Engines: These will run at 1050 lbs with a 13-inch hitch.
- Pro Head and Stock Head with Billet Carburetor Engines: These will run at 1025 lbs with a 12.5-inch hitch.
- Epoxy on Stock Head Engines: Minimal epoxy will be allowed on the external portion of the intake port. The maximum allowable area is 1 square inch per head. The intake manifold must bolt directly to the intake flange with a maximum thickness of 0.030 inches for the intake gasket. Adapters or flange extensions are illegal. Switching heads from one model/type to another is illegal.
- Engine Shielding: Use 1/8-inch steel or 3/16-inch aluminum on the external side of the cylinder, extending from the head gasket to the frame. The shield must be attached to the frame at the bottom and the flywheel shield at the top to ensure rigidity.
- Wheelbase: The maximum wheelbase is 56 inches.
- Overall Length: The maximum overall length is 96 inches.
- Engine Requirements: The engine must be a commercially available lawn and/or garden tractor air-cooled engine. Only V-twin configurations are allowed.
- Carburetor: The carburetor must be a single carburetor with one venturi and one throttle butterfly. The maximum venturi size is 1.200 inches.
- Flywheel: A steel flywheel is mandatory. The general flywheel shielding rules require 1/8-inch steel or 3/16-inch aluminum, 360 degrees around the flywheel.
- Tires: Maximum tire size is 26x12x12. Any tire is allowed.
- Tractor Appearance: Tractors must be clean and painted.
- Safety Gear: A firesuit and helmet are required.
- Fuel: Only alcohol (no fuel additives) is allowed. No pressurized fuel tanks.
- Oil Tanks: No pressurized oil tanks are allowed.
- Cubic Inch Check: The engine must be cubic check and sealed, with a 2% variance.
- General Rules Apply: All general rules apply unless otherwise specified.
Super Stock Single Class:
- Hitch Height: 12.5 inches
- Maximum Weight: 1050 lbs
- Cubic Inch Limit: 50.5 cubic inches
- Engine: Single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-cycle, flat-head, two valves on the same side.
- Induction: Naturally aspirated induction is permitted.
- Fuel: Methanol only.
- Wheelbase: Maximum 56 inches.
- Overall Length: Maximum 96 inches.
Super Stock Carbureted Only:
- Rules: The same as the Super Stock class but limited to carbureted engines only.
- Carburetor: A single throat carburetor is recommended.

- Maximum Weight: 1050 lbs
- Hitch Height: 12.5 inches
- Engine Limit: 53 cubic inches
- Other Requirements:
- Stock heads only, no outside welding.
- Any manifold allowed.
- Maximum carburetor venturi size: 1.200 inches.
- No billet carbs or fuel injection.
- Steel flywheel required; no cast iron.
- Safety shields, wheelie bars, and brakes are required.
Limited Pro Stock Diesel:
- Maximum Weight: 1125 lbs
- Engine: Must be commercially produced with at least 1000 units built. Must be no more than 3 cylinders, either liquid or air-cooled. Engine block must have visible factory casting numbers.
- Cubic Inch Limit: 70 cubic inches (based on factory casting numbers).
- Fuel: Diesel only, no propane or nitrous injection. Water injection is allowed (plain water only, no additives).
- Turbo: One turbo only, fitted with a shut-off guillotine.
- Other: Must use a "Cam Box" or "PFR" injection pump.
General Rules for All Classes:
- All tractors must meet safety standards as determined by the rules and officials.
- Tractors must be garden tractor variety, patented and factory-built—no homemade tractors.
- Tractors must have a stationary seat with a 3-inch minimum back.
- Tractors must have stock working brakes.
- All moving parts must be covered by a steel or aluminum shield (minimum .090 steel or 1/8-inch aluminum).
- All tractors must have a working kill switch mounted at the rear, within 6 inches of the center rear end.
- Wheelie bars are required, with two 5-inch minimum diameter wheels or two 3-inch x 3-inch pads.
- Weights must be securely fastened and not extend over 96 inches from the center of the rear axle.
